Something About The Country!

Updated: Dec 10, 2024

Recently the Lord gave me an amazing opportunity to go to the countryside of Washington and be surrounded by His creation! When I got away from the city I was reminded that the noise around me kept me from truly hearing the voice of God. In fact I got caught up in the busyness of life that my time with the Lord was even shortened. But somehow, out in the open field where all I heard were birds chirping, I was able to experience peace in a fresh way. The older couple that I stayed with are filled with the Holy Spirit and have a love for each other that one day I hope I will have. More importantly though is how much they love Jesus. These precious people brought me back to my first love, Jesus! I took a night walk with the sweet dear lady and together we prayed and I decided to rededicate my life to the Lord! Everything I am and everything I have is because of God! I also realized just how much my whole life I tried to find love in all the wrong places. Then I read a quote and it said, “The only one who can satisfy the human heart is the One who made it.” The Lord has spoken loudly and clear while I was gazing at the stars. “My child I know every star by name. I know you by name. I have chosen you and you are mine.” I made a vow before the Lord to always put Him first. And in the meantime to pray for my future husband. I was always told “Be the one before you find the one.” How true that statement is! Prepare yourself, make Jesus your everything, stay busy, love God and love others. Being out in the country I learned a very valuable lesson: In order to hear God’s voice, you have to be intentional and get rid of all distraction. For me it was escaping to the country. Whatever it takes, wherever you have to go, make time for Jesus. Talk to Him daily! I’m learning to get lost in Jesus because no one can ever love me like He does! There truly is something about the country!
