Why Do You Love God?

My sweet friend out of the blue said, ‘I love God’. Then she turned to me and asked me, “Why do you love God?” Honestly I had to think about that. Not because I couldn’t find reasons but because there are so many of them. The conclusion that I came to though is, I love God because He loved me before I even knew Him. He saw my filth, my wickedness, my mess, my brokenness, my sin, my shame, and yet He reached towards me. He saw me and He said, “I want you.” To feel needed is one thing but to know that you are wanted is one of the most amazing things in the world. God doesn’t need us but He genuinely wants us. This week hasn’t been easy and many challenges arose and I discovered that people aren’t always who they appear to be and they will fail and disappoint you but the thing is God is not like us humans. His love is pure. His promises are faithful and true. He never fails. He never disappoints. His intentions are for our good! So, the reason I love God is because He gave His only Son Jesus to die for a wretch like me and gave me His righteousness. I love God because when I fail or others fail me, He is my only consistency and security and hope. Why do you love God?!
