Is Christ Enough?

“Christ is enough for me, Christ is enough for me, everything I have is in You.” We sing it at church. But do we truly believe this? It is one thing to sing the song but it is totally another thing to believe the lyrics and live it out. I will be the first to admit that although I love to sing and I love to worship, as soon as the music stops and I get on with life, however, it is like I forget the lyrics. Is Christ truly enough for me? I would like to think He is but honestly more often than not, I act as if He is not. Lately the Lord has shown me that I have to get my priorities lined up. I need to make Jesus my everything. Being complete in Christ means recognizing that He IS enough! Knowing that only He can fulfill the desires of my heart. My desires need to become His desires. My dreams His dreams. My passions His passions. So how does making Jesus enough practically look like in our every day lives? I think it looks a lot like contentment. Keeping our eyes on Jesus even when our circumstances tell us otherwise. The devil is really good at allowing us to believe that Jesus is not enough. To make us believe that something else will satisfy. Quench our desires. But let me tell you a secret: The devil is a liar. Don’t allow him to deceive you. In Acts 17 we find the verse that says, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” Everything we are and everything we do is because of Him. I want to make Jesus enough! Also, don’t ever let the world believe that you, by yourself, are not enough. Because you are! Christ is Enough and in Christ you are enough. Being with another person won’t satisfy you in the long run because sooner or later they will fail you or upset you or do something you don’t like. However if you make Jesus your everything He truly will satisfy you and never fail you. Is Christ Enough?
